January @ the Public Library

Wilson County Public Library has a variety of upcoming programs offered to the public this January at the Main Library and Branches.

For children, early literacy programs will continue at the Main Library every Wednesday and Thursday morning.  Children ages birth through 2 are invited to join the 9:30 a.m. program.  Preschool age children are invited to join the program at 10:00 a.m. program.  Family Storytimes are scheduled for Saturday, January 6th, 20th, and 27th at 10:30 a.m.  For Family Storytime on January 20th at 10:30 a.m., author Nina White will present a program on her book, A Town Called Crayonville.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party, will be held in the Main Library Assembly Room on January 27th at 3:00 p.m. This storybook costume event is celebrating Lewis Carroll’s birthday!

For teens, the Main Library will be celebrating National Puzzle Day with a night of puzzles and games! This event will be held in the Assembly Room on Monday, January 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contact Scott at 252-237-5355 ext. 5073 for more details.

All ages are welcomed to register for the Super Blue Moon Viewing held at the Wilson Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, January 31st from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. With cooperation from the Wilson Botanical Gardens and the Tar River Astronomy Club, the library will host the viewing of this rare event. A series of Introduction to Computers classes will be offered in the Main Library Conference Room Wednesdays, January 10th ,17th ,24th, and 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Registration is required by January 10th.  Each class builds on the one before, so please plan to attend all four classes in January.  For more information and to register, call Mark at 252-237-5355 ext. 5074.
